Yoga: a healing daily ritual
We all have different rituals. However, we learn how to nurture our rituals in our time on retreats; we rethink ourselves, make new connections, feel ourselves more clearly, and release in the playfulness of the moment. Therefore, joy pours around.
What is the best time for yoga?
For me, it is essential to start a day with ‘my time’. I need to get up early; the best is until it is still dark, but that’s not happening consistently. For me, yoga naturally comes in the morning as a perfect step from a dreamy night into a functional day. For instance, I am mostly up before all others. When in the community, I’m already hungry for a proper meal as I had half of the day behind when others just opened up the eyes.
For me, it is not a hassle to rise early; I love it. It makes me feel alive. I like sunrises. Awakening to new opportunities arises with every new day. It’s a moment to set up our intentions for the day ahead.
As the day goes by, slipping into the night, I follow it.
What prevents us from sticking to our daily rituals?
Then, maybe for the weekend, I could enjoy myself a bit laziness, especially if the sky gets grey. I’m losing the spark for action and got much slower or sleepier. Vata of my constitution had a heavy time in living through the cold and grey days. And I’m good with that. Acceptance and respect are what we need. I learnt that when I don’t accept the natural conditioning of my constitution, things get worse.
As a result, I learn to know and accept me, my limitation, and expand them when there is a right moment for expansion. We can learn many tools that help us to accept the changes that we cannot control. And release that control to approach more joyful living.
Why do we like rituals?
Our nervous system has two responses to the outer world: ‘flight or fight’ and ‘rest&digest’. Moreover, this interplay between our sympathetic and parasympathetic systems mainly defines our mind-body wellbeing. Learning how to balance it correctly can help our resilience be more sturdy and harm-proof. It’s all about relaxing our nervous system after it was busy solving many inputs it got from the life surrounding us. We are in constant interaction with the world around us, and we need to give our system space for process and clean-out.
Why are retreats good for rituals?
We need to have our free time and resources to go to the retreat. We really would like to do it, but it is never the right moment, especially in these heavy days of restrictions and limitations on all levels. I feel as this is a moment to show that we can continue nurturing our precious self. And take care of us, our health, relationships, expansions of our mind and challenges of our body. Doing our rituals in a community multiplies our energy into a more potent field whose effects we immediately experience.
Why retreats are the perfect place to practice your rituals?
One of the goal of retreats is to create rituals for your body mind.
It’s not only a moment of leisure. It is also the perfect time of peace when you share and receive, give, and get more knowledge.
Retreat is that place for openness for love and acceptance in a safe environment.
Though, whenever you feel like you deserve the retreat of your life, treat yourself, because you have earned it for sure.
The retreats we host will unfold for you numerous simple healing rituals that you can take home.
